Interested in Getting inVOLved as a Welcome Leader, Orientation Leader, or Transfer Transition Guide? Each year, students who serve in these positions help thousands of new Vols and make our programs and events successful.

Welcome Leader Poster

Help greet the newest class of volunteers by serving as a Welcome Leader (WL) for Welcome Week 2014. Welcome Leaders work primarily in August and guide a group of 20-25 first-year students through Welcome Week activities. WLs will facilitate small group discussions, support university programs throughout the week, and create professional relationships among the WL team and university staff.

The application deadline is Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

You must have your online application submitted by the deadline in order to be considered.

Welcome Leaders must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. All student leaders must be in good academic standing with the University of Tennessee and uphold the university standards of conduct.

Interviews will take place February 24-March 4. You will find instructions to sign up for interviews upon completion of the position application.

All interest sessions will take place in the Scripps Convergence Lab Theater, located in the Communications Building on the 4th floor.

Use your leadership skills and your Big Orange pride to welcome more than 10,000 new students and parents to campus. Orientation Leaders help guide admitted students and their families through several one-day and two-day orientation sessions throughout the summer to prepare them for success at UT.

The application period for 2014 Orientation Leaders has ended.

Orientation Leaders must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA. All student leaders must be in good academic standing with UT and uphold the university standards of conduct.

Be a part of this new group of student leaders dedicated to welcoming transfer students to UT! In this critical role, you will guide students through transfer orientation during the summer, Welcome Week in August, and the new transfer mentoring program in the fall semester.
