We know the whole family often shares in a student’s transition to UT, so orientation benefits parents, guardians, and family members as well. We offer orientation for parents and guests to help answer questions and concerns from your point of view.
Even if you’re already familiar with campus, the orientation program includes a series of special presentations designed to give you additional information about the university and its resources. It also offers insight into the adjustments you and your student will face during the next few years.
During orientation, we will introduce you to the academic programs, special services available at UT, and the ways the university supports families through the UT Parents Association. Families also have the opportunity to talk with university administrators, faculty members, and orientation leaders.
Orientation is the first step in an incoming student’s transition to UT so we welcome and encourage you to join us.
If your student has already chosen a college and major, you should register for an orientation session when that college is represented so advisors will be available.
